Seabed Cleaning Continued in Bodrum Gümüşlük
Seabed Cleaning, carried out by Bodrum Municipality to raise awareness about the protection of seas, was held in the Gümüşlük Neighborhood of Bodrum.
Organized for 12 years under the slogan “Blue Suits the Sea the Most” and held every week in a different neighborhood, this week's stage of seabed cleaning took place in Gümüşlük.
Municipal Council Members Candan Topdemir and İlknur Ülküm Seferoğlu represented Bodrum Mayor Tamer Mandalıncı at the event, along with municipal staff, volunteers, and citizens.

As part of the Seabed Cleaning event, volunteer diving teams composed of municipal personnel and GreenRangers volunteers performed seabed cleaning in Gümüşlük Bay. Approximately 250 kilograms of waste were removed from the sea during the operations. Among the collected waste, single-use glass and plastic bottles, metal parts, fishing gear, and a solar panel that came up with various wastes drew attention.

The waste was exhibited on the Gümüşlük coast to raise environmental awareness and then taken to the Grade 1 Waste Collection Center in Konacık Neighborhood.
The Seabed Cleaning event, organized to contribute to the protection of seas and increase environmental awareness, will continue on Wednesday, July 1st, in the Gümbet Neighborhood.
