As across the country, a martyr commemoration program was held on the 10th anniversary of the prevention of the treacherous coup attempt of July 15 in Muğla. The program, which started early in the morning, continued in the squares until the evening. Within this scope, commemoration programs were held in the districts of Datça, Yatağan and Milas. The program, which started with a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, attracted great interest from the citizens.

In the evening, citizens filling Datça Republic Square held the square with Turkish flags in their hands, while in Yatağan, where everything was almost painted red and white, the citizens performed a march with the flags in their hands. A recitation of the Quran was performed and prayers were made for all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the defense of the homeland. The speeches made about the meaning and importance of the day underlined national unity, togetherness and democracy.

Historic scenes from the night of July 15 and the heroic saga of the nation were shown on giant screens set up in the ceremony areas through documentary screenings.
