The Foundation of the Kent Park Project in Dalaman Was Laid
A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Dalaman Kent Park Project to be realized in collaboration with Dalaman Municipality and Muğla Metropolitan Municipality.
The project, which aims to bring a new breath to the social life of the district and will be built on an area of approximately 30 thousand square meters, will be Dalaman's new living center when completed.
The groundbreaking ceremony of the Dalaman Kent Park Project located in Hürriyet Neighborhood of Dalaman was attended by Ahmet Aras, President of the Coastal Municipalities Union and Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, Sezer Durmuş, Mayor of Dalaman, Deputy Mayors İlhan Kural, Rıza Kurt and Eray Yıldız, Nail Kızıl, CHP Muğla Provincial Chairman, district heads of political parties, representatives of non-governmental organizations, department heads of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, unit managers of Dalaman Municipality, neighborhood headmen and numerous citizens.

Within the scope of the Kent Park Project, which aims to make significant contributions to Dalaman's social, cultural, and sports life, many social and recreational areas that citizens of all ages can benefit from will be brought to life. The project will include an electric traffic training park for children, adventure areas, skateboard and roller skate tracks, bocce and curling courts, chess areas, reading sections, and a library. Additionally, Yörük Tent will be established to preserve the region’s cultural values, and Women’s Handicrafts stands to support local production. With social facilities such as an electric train, cafes, and a concert area with large capacity, the park is intended to become one of Dalaman's important living and meeting centers.

Sezer Durmuş, Mayor of Dalaman, stated that since the first day they took office, they aimed to create a qualified area where citizens of all ages could spend time in peace, where children could play safely, and families could come together. He expressed that today they laid the foundation of this dream on an area of 29 thousand square meters.
WILL BE THE ATTRACTION CENTER OF THE REGION
Mayor Durmuş emphasized that Dalaman Kent Park is designed with a special approach to become a regional attraction center. Stating that they did not want to make an ordinary park, he said:
“Making a park is simple. You can create a green area and open a park by putting some playground equipment. But we want citizens from Fethiye, Gökova, and surrounding districts to especially come to see the Kent Park in Dalaman. We want them to spend pleasant time here with their children and families. Therefore, we created a very different concept.”

STRUCTURES IN HARMONY WITH NATURE
Durmuş stated that they adopted an approach harmonious with nature in the project and said, “We are creating a natural living space with structures made entirely of wood and iron products. We are building a modern and aesthetic urban park where people can spend time intertwined with nature.”
In his speech, Mayor Durmuş also drew attention to the support of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality for the project, emphasizing that the contribution of the Metropolitan Municipality was decisive in the realization of Kent Park. He said that when they took office, Dalaman Municipality’s budget was approximately 400 million TRY, and today the annual budget reached 1 billion 300 million TRY. Despite this, he expressed that it is not possible for the district municipality alone to realize such large investments.
“Dalaman Municipality has no chance to carry out such large and comprehensive projects with its own resources. I say this sincerely. If our Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Ahmet Aras were not here today, neither among us, beside us nor behind us, we could not realize any of these projects. We could not even hammer a nail,” said Durmuş, revealing that the Metropolitan Municipality will invest approximately 100 million TRY just for the Kent Park Project.
Ahmet Aras, President of the Coastal Municipalities Union and Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, said in his speech at the ceremony: “Mayor Sezer told us about this project on his first day in office. It is a very beautiful place. A natural wonder that our people can benefit from. With some minor touches, we will make this place livable. I will fully support every work Mayor Sezer does. Many social facilities will be built within the 30 thousand square meters area. It will have a serious cost, but it is well deserved because the public’s money is returned to them with such beautiful services.”
After the speeches, Ahmet Aras, President of the Coastal Municipalities Union and Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, Sezer Durmuş, Mayor of Dalaman, and protocol members conducted inspections at the Dalaman Kent Park Project area.
