Chinese Ambassador to the People's Republic of China Jiang Xuebin Participated in Events in Fethiye

The program started with visits to Fethiye District Governorship and Fethiye Municipality. Then, the opening of the Cultural Exchange Exhibition held at the Özer Olgun Cultural Center was realized. In the opening program attended by representatives of institutions and organizations, non-governmental organizations, and a large number of citizens, Filiz Erdoğan spoke on behalf of the Fethiye Photography and Cinema Art Association (FEFSAD). In her speech, Filiz Erdoğan said, "Photography is the common language of the world. It is a powerful art form that can bring together the feelings, lives, and cultures of people living in different geographies looking at the same sky in a single frame. Sometimes, photographs silently express emotions that we cannot convey with long sentences."

After the speeches, the Cultural Exchange Exhibition was opened for art lovers' visits. The works in the exhibition were examined with interest by the participants.

"It will strengthen tourism activity"

Speaking at the program held at the Cultural Center, Fethiye Deputy Mayor Sabri Oğuz Bollelli drew attention to the importance of historical ties between the two countries and said: "Today, we are not gathered here only for a diplomatic visit. At the same time, we witness a meaningful meeting that will further strengthen the friendship, mutual respect, and future-oriented common vision of two very old and deep-rooted civilizations. Turkish and Chinese peoples have influenced each other not only in trade for centuries but also in science, art, culture, and thought. We believe that the visa facilitation provided for the citizens of the People's Republic of China will increase contacts between our peoples, strengthen mutual tourism mobility, and give a new momentum to our friendship."

"Our collaborations will continue to increase"

Jiang Xuebin, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Ankara, expressed his pleasure in being in Fethiye and emphasized the development of sister city relations.

Ambassador Xuebin said, "I am happy to be with you in Fethiye. The name Fethiye is special and meaningful for us as well. Our contacts with Fethiye will increase further. We desire collaborations between Huzhou and Fethiye in the fields of environment, nature, and protection. I believe that our joint projects will increase even more in the upcoming period."

Within the scope of the program, promotional films of Fethiye and its sister city Huzhou in China were also shown to the participants.

Trilingual directional signs examined

Continuing the program, Ambassador Jiang Xuebin and the accompanying delegation examined the decorative directional signs prepared in Turkish, English, and Chinese, placed by Fethiye Municipality at various points in the district, on Dispanser Street. During the visit, Ambassador Jiang Xuebin and Fethiye Municipality officials released white doves into the sky as a symbol of friendship and peace.

A friendship tree for Fethiye

In the final section of the program, Ambassador Jiang Xuebin and the accompanying delegation visited Dr. Atila Orhan Park next to Esnaf Hospital and planted an olive tree in memory of their visit to Fethiye.
