Bursa Muğlalılar Association and DAĞ-DER Discussed Cultural Cooperation

Bursa Muğlalılar Association and one of Bursa's longstanding civil society organizations, DAĞ-DER, came together to protect common cultural values and pass them on to future generations. During the visit hosted by DAĞ-DER President Derya Başak, Bursa Muğlalılar Association President Dr. Ramazan Akan and his accompanying delegation evaluated joint projects aimed at keeping the Yörük-Turkmen culture alive, as well as cultural activities and programs that could be organized in Bursa's villages. A consensus was reached on strengthening cooperation between the two associations.

Joint work message for the future of Yörük-Turkmen culture

At the meeting, the shared heritage that Muğla and Bursa carry in terms of Yörük-Turkmen culture was discussed in detail. Emphasis was placed on the importance not only of preserving traditions, lifestyles, and cultural memory passed down through generations for centuries but also of transmitting these values to younger generations.

The participants stated that cultural heritage is not only an element representing the past but a living value that strengthens the community's common identity and guides the future. In particular, ideas were exchanged about developing projects that ensure greater participation of youth in cultural activities and increasing cooperation among civil society organizations.

Cultural visits to Bursa's villages are planned

One of the prominent topics of the discussion was joint visits to rural neighborhoods of Bursa and villages that bear traces of Yörük-Turkmen culture. These visits aim to introduce traditional life, local culture, and social memory on-site.

During the meeting, it was stated that village gatherings would provide an important cultural experience especially for children and youth. It was evaluated that events contributing directly to the recognition of local values would strengthen cultural bonds between generations and support the transmission of traditional life to future generations.

Bursa Muğlalılar Association and DAĞ-DER to organize joint events

The representatives of both associations also exchanged views about cultural and social activities that can be carried out together in the upcoming period. It was stated that joint organizations would create significant opportunities for promoting Yörük-Turkmen culture to broader audiences and contributing to Bursa's cultural life.

It was noted that combining the knowledge and experience of Bursa Muğlalılar Association and DAĞ-DER in joint projects would also strengthen solidarity among civil society organizations active in the city. At the end of the meeting, it was stated that the two institutions would continue communication to develop joint projects in the coming process.

Dr. Ramazan Akan: Culture is carried to the future as long as it is kept alive

Dr. Ramazan Akan, President of Bursa Muğlalılar Association, stated that Yörük-Turkmen culture is a strong shared heritage extending from Muğla to Bursa and emphasized that it is very important not only to tell about these cultural values but also to keep them alive in daily life.

Akan expressed that they had productive discussions on many topics ranging from planned visits to Bursa's villages to joint cultural activities and stressed the importance of bringing the accumulations of the associations together in projects that will pass on these to next generations. He also highlighted that the strong communication established among civil society organizations in Bursa offers important contributions to urban culture and social solidarity.

The visit ended with the exchange of well wishes and an evaluation of joint activities that can be implemented in the future. The Bursa Muğlalılar Association delegation thanked DAĞ-DER President Derya Başak and board members for their hospitality.
