Benyamin Sönmez Classical Music Festival started

In Fethiye, the 13th "Benyamin Sönmez Classical Music Festival" held in memory of cellist Benyamin Sönmez has started.

On the first day of the event organized with the contributions of Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Fethiye Tourism Promotion Culture Environment and Education Foundation (FETAV) and some non-governmental organizations, a memorial ceremony was held at Benyamin Sönmez Park on the Coastal Band, and flowers were laid on Sönmez's bust.

Then, at the event continuing at the shopping center in the city, the "2BU" group consisting of pianist Buğra Çankır and qanun artist Burak Berk Boyar, both continuing their academic careers at Ankara Music and Fine Arts University, and two of whom are autistic, took the stage.

The duo performed both Western classical music classics and unique Eastern pieces.

The approximately 1.5-hour performance by Çankır and Boyar received the audience's admiration.

Following this, pianist Barış Kosku took the stage.
