President Akdenizli, "The press is an indispensable element of our democracy"

The program organized by Seydikemer Municipality at Teras Restaurant on the occasion of July 24 Journalists and Press Day was attended by Seydikemer Mayor B. Önder Akdenizli, Deputy Mayors Mustafa Karakuş, Mustafa Tanır and Muharrem Gökcen, President of the Fethiye Journalists Association Osman Baykuş, President of the Muğla Internet Journalists Association Seda Köktener, President of the Digital Media Publishers Association Serap Ülkü Özdemir, as well as many visual and print media representatives working in Fethiye and Seydikemer.

Mayor Akdenizli, who attended to journalists individually during the program, thanked all press workers who selflessly perform their duties to inform the public accurately, impartially, and quickly.

Emphasizing the importance of the role the press plays for society, Akdenizli said:

"I sincerely congratulate all our press workers who bear an important responsibility in enabling society to access accurate information and who selflessly work day and night on July 24 Journalists and Press Day. The press is one of the indispensable elements of our democracy. Our valuable press members, who establish a strong communication bridge between public institutions and our citizens and convey the development of our district and the services provided to the public, also form the collective memory of society."

Akdenizli stated that as Seydikemer Municipality, they always give importance to working with mutual understanding and cooperation with the press and that they will continue to share projects that add value to the district with the public.

GET WELL WISHES TO JOURNALISTS

In his speech, Mayor Akdenizli commemorated press workers who passed away with mercy and conveyed his get well wishes and hopes for quick recovery to journalists Erdoğan Cankuş, Gülyüz Yurdakul, and Gönül Samas, who are undergoing treatment.

INVITED TO EVENTS

At the end of his speech, Mayor Akdenizli invited journalists and citizens to cultural events to be held in Seydikemer.

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Culture Days, to be held on July 25-26,

The Karaçulha Volunteers Association Yoruk Festival on July 25-26,

The Cengiz Kurtoğlu concert to be held on August 15 at Zümrüt Meadow in Seki Neighborhood,

The 33rd Seydikemer Seki Oil Wrestling and Cultural Festival on August 15-16,

he invited all citizens.
