Minister Kurum Announced: Bottom Dredging Starts in Fethiye Bay
Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum announced that an important project aimed at cleaning Fethiye Bay will begin. Minister Kurum stated that two new bottom dredging ships have been commissioned in Fethiye and dredging operations will start in the bay.
Minister Kurum, who inspected the bottom sludge cleaning works carried out in Kocaeli on site, stated that they aim to achieve the success obtained in İzmit Bay also in Fethiye Bay.
Kurum said, “Two more bottom dredging ships have been added to our fleet in Fethiye. We are starting bottom dredging in Fethiye Bay. We are taking steps to make our Fethiye Bay worthy of our country and citizens. Just as we succeeded in Kocaeli, we will now succeed in Fethiye Bay as well.”
Dr. Kadir Sarıhan, AK Party Fethiye District President, making a statement on the subject, emphasized that this investment is of great importance for Fethiye's environmental future, preservation of its natural beauties, and strengthening of its tourism potential.
Sarıhan thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister Murat Kurum, stating that the dredging works will make an important contribution to cleaning Fethiye Bay.
