Atatürk's Aviation Legacy Meets with the Youth
The Model Airplane Course, opened in cooperation with the Turkish Aeronautical Association Muğla Branch and Menteşe Municipality, not only supports students' manual skills and mental development but also transfers the aviation culture to new generations.
The Model Airplane Course was opened in cooperation with the Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK) Muğla Branch and Menteşe Municipality to enable students to spend the summer period productively.
Aiming to develop young people's manual skills, contribute to their socialization, and increase their interest in aviation, the course also conveys the founding values of the Republic and Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's aviation vision to students.
Met with Students
THK Muğla Branch President Ali Coşkun visited the area where the course was held and met with the students receiving education.
Examining the model airplanes prepared by the students, Coşkun received information from the instructors about the progress of the course. Sharing the excitement of production with the youth, Coşkun stated that the course makes significant contributions to the personal development of children.
"Our Aim is to Make Aviation Loved"
THK Muğla Branch President Ali Coşkun, recalling the words of the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, "The future is in the skies," said the following:
"Our greatest aim is to introduce the Turkish Aeronautical Association, entrusted to us by the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk with the vision 'The future is in the skies,' to our youth and to make them love aviation. Thanks to this meaningful cooperation with our Menteşe Municipality, we ensure that our children make the most productive use of their summer vacations."
They Learn Patience, Focus, and Team Spirit
Coşkun expressed that model airplane making does not only provide technical skills to children and continued as follows:
"Here, they not only make model airplanes; they learn to be patient, focus, produce within a plan, and most importantly, team spirit. While their manual skills improve, they immerse themselves in the aviation culture on site. Seeing the production excitement in our children's eyes and their respect and sense of belonging to our established institution is our greatest source of happiness."
They Design Their Own ATA Airplanes
In the Model Airplane Course, which will continue throughout the summer months, students experience the pride of designing their first ATA model airplanes with their own hands while learning the basic principles of aerodynamics.
Thanks to the course, students move away from digital screens, find a healthy socialization environment with their peers, and also get the opportunity to closely learn about the historical mission of the Turkish Aeronautical Association.
THK Muğla Branch thanked Menteşe Municipality for its support to the project and announced that similar studies that will bring young people from Muğla together with aviation will continue.
