91-Year-Old Philanthropist Earned Admiration! Donated 500 Million at Once to Education

A 91-year-old businessman who sweated for years in America never forgot the sacred promise he made to his mother in the past and donated his massive property worth approximately half a billion lira (500 million TL) with a single signature. The signatures at the ceremony held at the district governorate moved everyone, while the story behind this great sacrifice and what the half-billion property will be converted into became a subject of curiosity.

FULFILLED THE PROMISE HE MADE TO HIS MOTHER

Dinçer Akyalı, a 91-year-old civil engineer living in the Fethiye district of Muğla, fulfilled the promise he made to his mother by donating his building and land worth approximately 500 million lira to education.

MEANINGFUL DONATION EXTENDING FROM THE USA TO FETHİYE

Having worked as a civil engineer in the United States for many years, businessman Akyalı decided to donate the 4-story building and land located in Patlangıç Neighborhood, Muğla Makası area, which is still used as an educational institution, to the Fethiye District Directorate of National Education.

PROTOCOL SIGNED AT THE DISTRICT GOVERNORATE

Following this, a protocol ceremony was held at the Fethiye District Governorate for the transfer procedures. At the ceremony, a protocol was signed between Fethiye District Governor Fatih Akkaya and philanthropist Akyalı.

District Governor Akkaya stated in his speech at the ceremony that investments in education are the most important investments in the future and expressed that the support of philanthropists contributes to strengthening educational institutions.

Philanthropist Akyalı emphasized that he is happy to fulfill the promise he made to his mother and said, "Hopefully, future scientists will be trained here." The building is planned to serve as the Fethiye Science and Art Center next year.
