The 2,000-year-old Patara Lighthouse shines again

The Patara Lighthouse, approximately 2,000 years old and located in the Patara Ancient City in Antalya’s Kaş district, has been relit following the completion of restoration work.

The historic lighthouse, built during the reign of Roman Emperor Nero, had fallen silent for many years after collapsing due to natural disasters.

Revived through a restoration process lasting around 5 years, the 26-meter-high structure now shines again at night, offering visitors a visual spectacle. (Fatih Yılmaz)
