'Clean Fethiye, Happy Future' came to life with the children's acting

The environmental children's play titled 'Clean Fethiye, Happy Future', prepared by Fethiye Municipality within the scope of Environment Week, met with audiences. In the play performed on the stage of Fethiye City Theatre, the children of municipal employees took the stage for environmental awareness and delivered a meaningful message. At the end of the show, Deputy Mayor of Fethiye Ali Özgür Kullukçu addressed the students and presented gifts to the children involved in the play.

Fethiye Municipality has undertaken an exemplary project aimed at raising environmental awareness as part of Environment Week activities. The environmentally-themed children's theater titled “Clean Fethiye, Happy Future,” prepared in cooperation with the Directorate of Cleaning Services and the Directorate of Culture and Social Affairs, met the audience with the participation of Fethiye City Theater actors.

In the play directed by Berkan Karasu, the children of the personnel of the Fethiye Municipality Cleaning Services Department played roles. After an intense preparation period of about a month, the staged theater play conveyed the importance of protecting the environment from the perspective of children, providing the audience with both educational and thought-provoking moments.

The first session of the show, held in two sessions at 11:00 and 14:00, was attended by 6 schools from across Fethiye. Students closely followed the play, which covered topics such as environmental cleaning, recycling, nature conservation, and the effects of environmental pollution on the future.

Director Berkan Karasu, making statements about the event, said that they carried out a meaningful work within the scope of Environment Week, "Together with Fethiye Municipality Cleaning Affairs Directorate and Culture, Art and Social Affairs Directorate, and with the support of our City Theatre team, we prepared a play performed by children. All of our actors are children, and they are all children of the Cleaning Affairs Directorate personnel. We have been in an intensive working pace for about a month. We wrote a play that explains how we should keep the environment clean, the importance of environmental cleanliness, and the consequences of an unclean environment in the future. We started to meet with schools today. We will hold two sessions during the day. Our performances will continue next week as well. Our aim is to raise environmental awareness among all children in Fethiye," he said.

Karasu also drew attention to the environmental efforts carried out by the Fethiye Municipality and stated that education and awareness activities will continue uninterrupted in order to raise environmentally conscious generations.

Message from Kullukçu to students

At the end of the play, Fethiye Deputy Mayor Ali Özgür Kullukçu addressed the students in the hall, emphasizing the importance of environmental awareness. Kullukçu said, “Dear students, today we were together with you in this play prepared by the valuable children of our Cleaning Services Department staff. I hope you have taken the advice from the play they presented. We send our love to all of you.”

After his speech, Deputy Chairman Kullukçu congratulated the children who contributed to the preparation of the play and performed successfully on stage one by one, presenting various gifts. While the children's happiness reflected on their faces, the teachers and students in the hall applauded the little actors for a long time. It was stated that the theater play titled “Clean Fethiye, Happy Future,” aiming to convey environmental awareness to children through art, will continue to meet with students from different schools in the coming days.
