Muğla Metropolitan Municipality brought together 360 participants from 9 districts with a boat tour event organized for martyr families and veterans in the unique natural beauties of Fethiye and Akyaka.
Muğla Metropolitan Municipality organized a boat tour in Fethiye and Ula Akyaka as part of social support activities for martyr families and veterans. A total of 360 relatives of martyrs and veterans from Menteşe, Ula, Kavaklıdere, Fethiye, Seydikemer, Ortaca, Köyceğiz, Dalaman, and Yatağan came together on a special day intertwined with nature.
Martyrs' Families and Veterans Came Together
A boat tour event organized by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality for the families of martyrs and veterans was held with intense participation. A total of 360 families of martyrs and veterans from the districts of Menteşe, Ula, Kavaklıdere, Fethiye, Seydikemer, Ortaca, Köyceğiz, Dalaman, and Yatağan attended the organization held in Fethiye and Ula Akyaka. While the participants enjoyed a pleasant day accompanied by the unique natural beauties of Muğla, feelings of unity and togetherness were also strengthened throughout the event.
They Discovered the Beauties of Fethiye and Akyaka
As part of the boat tour, participants had the opportunity to closely see the turquoise bays of Fethiye and the natural beauties of Akyaka. During the all-day event, martyr families and veterans found opportunities to both relax and socialize. Martyr relatives, veterans, and relatives of veterans who attended the event expressed their great satisfaction with the activities carried out.

Süleyman Taşkesen, President of the Martyrs' Families' Assistance and Solidarity Association and Cyprus Veteran, who participated in the event held in Akyaka, said, "Thanks to our municipality for organizing such a boat trip. On behalf of the community I represent, we thank our Mayor Ahmet Aras. Making our families smile and slightly easing the pain inside is our greatest consolation." Esin Çetinkaya, wife of a martyred police officer and participant in the boat trip, stated, "The Metropolitan Municipality always supports us as martyr families. Besides, we participate in many other events. We also thank our Mayor very much for this event." Emine Sefa, who expressed great satisfaction with the events held, said, "Their attention and care are very nice. As a wife of a city employee, I am very pleased; they are always behind us. We are glad they exist."

President of the Coastal Municipalities Union and Mayor of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Ahmet Aras stated that martyrs' families and veterans are the most valuable trusts of society, saying, "The families of our dear martyrs who sacrificed their lives for this homeland and our heroic veterans are always the pride of our hearts. It will never be enough to express our gratitude to them. As the Metropolitan Municipality, we organize various events to ensure that our martyr relatives and veterans take a more active place in social life and come together to create beautiful memories."
The ground, play groups, and sports areas in Üçkuyular Park have been renewed. A safer living space was created for children and citizens.
The 'Barrier-Free Market' project was launched by the Muğla Branch of the Turkish Association of Disabled People to support the economic and social participation of disabled individuals and their families.
With the new regulation published in the Official Gazette, significant changes have been made to the norm staff system of municipalities. The regulation covering municipalities across Turkey also closely concerns the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality and its affiliated institutions. Director positions exceeding the norm staffing standards will be frozen, and when they become vacant, they will not be refilled and will be canceled by the decision of the municipal council.
TZOB General President Şemsi Bayraktar announced that 151 producers were affected by the forest fire in Seydikemer, and 2,128 decares of agricultural land and 45 houses were damaged.
In the Yanıklar Neighborhood of Fethiye district in Muğla, a fire in a 4x4 vehicle quickly spread to the forested area. Thanks to the rapid intervention of the fire brigade teams, the fire was brought under control before it grew, and cooling efforts with two helicopters continue in the area.
