Artist from Muğla Impresses with Works at Bursa Stork Festival

The Bursa Stork Festival held in Bursa has once again been one of the significant events where nature and art meet this year. The festival, held on June 6-7, 2026, in Karacabey Eskikaraağaç European Stork Village, took place with high participation in the region known for the story of Yaren the Stork. In addition to boat tours on Lake Uluabat, nature walks, talks, and concerts, photography exhibitions also marked the event.

One of the most striking events of the festival was the photo exhibition curated by photographer Ali Rıza Özer, who grew up in Yatağan district of Muğla and has been continuing his artistic work in Bursa for many years. The exhibition, prepared with a one-month effort by 18 photographers, members of the Bursa Photographers and Cinema Amateurs Association (BUFSAD), presented 64 photographs portraying the natural life of Eskikaraağaç Village and its unique relationship with storks to photography enthusiasts. The opening of the exhibition was held with the participation of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Şahin BİBA and Bursa Deputy Ms. Emine Yavuz Gözgeç. Additionally, the President of the Bursa Muğla Association Dr. Ramazan Akan and board members attended the opening to show support to the artist from Muğla.

Muğla-based photographer Ali Rıza Özer has been contributing to the art of photography as a member of BUFSAD since 2011, while also working as a photography educator. Continuing his work in nature and documentary photography, Özer stated that in this project they aimed to reflect the natural and cultural texture of Eskikaraağaç in the most accurate way.

Also a member of the Advisory Board and the Organization Committee of the Bursa Muğlalılar Association, Özer’s success was proudly received by his fellow townspeople. The participation of an artist raised in Muğla in an important national-scale event once again showcased Muğla’s cultural and artistic values. The Bursa Stork Festival, known for its combination of nature and art, gained a special significance with the photo exhibition prepared with the contributions of the artist from Muğla.
