Ambassador Jiang Xuebin examined the Chinese road direction signs on Dispanser Street together with Fethiye Deputy Mayor Sabri Oğuz Bolelli.
The delegation, who received information about the multilingual guidance system contributing to Fethiye's international tourism identity, released pigeons, the universal symbols of friendship and peace, into the sky after the inspections.
The program continued with a sapling planting ceremony held at Dr. Atilla Orhan Park. The "Olive of Friendship and Peace" was planted as a lasting symbol of friendship between the two countries by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Turkey Jiang Xuebin and Deputy Mayor Sabri Oğuz Bolelli on behalf of Fethiye Mayor Alim Karaca.
The events held added meaning to the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Turkey and China, sending a message of friendship, peace, and brotherhood from Fethiye to the world.
The olive tree took its place in the park as a lasting memory symbolizing the transfer of strong ties between the two countries to future generations.
On the commemorative plaque placed next to the olive tree in the park, alongside the flags of Turkey and China, the following statements were included: “This olive tree, jointly planted by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Turkey Jiang Xuebin and Fethiye Mayor Alim Karaca in memory of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries; is a symbol of friendship, peace, and a shared future that will live on for generations between Turkey and China. As friendship takes root, peace blossoms.”
