Rahmi Kaan Karahan from Muğla became world champion

At the ICF 2026 Junior and U23 Flatwater Canoe World Championship held in Halifax, Canada, the national athlete Rahmi Kaan Karahan from Muğla wrote his name in golden letters in Turkish canoe sports with his historic success.

National athlete Rahmi Kaan Karahan became world champion by leaving his competitors behind in the 500 meters category at the championship, and completed the event with a total of 3 medals by winning bronze medals in the 200 meters and 1000 meters races. With these results, Rahmi Kaan Karahan made history as the first athlete to win a medal at the World Championship in Turkish canoe history.

Rahmi Kaan Karahan, who was prepared under the management of National Team Coach and also Muğla Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate Canoe Coach Ufuk Özcan, one of the architects of the success, received the reward of his disciplined work with the world championship.
