National athletes coming from all over Turkey underwent an intensive training program during the one-week camp. In addition to training, the athletes had the opportunity to closely explore Muğla's natural, cultural, and touristic attractions within the scope of "active rest" activities, which is one of the important elements of sports science.

From the beginning to the end of the camp, the organization and coordination efforts were carried out by the Beşkaza Culture and Solidarity Association/Platform and the Muğla Provincial Representation of the Turkish Deaf Sports Federation.

“Our National Team is a Shared Value of Our Nation”

Devrim Karakuş, President of Beşkaza Culture and Solidarity Association/Platform, stated that the national team holds great value for Turkey in his comments regarding the Muğla camp of the national team.

Karakuş said:

“The European Games to be held this month in Germany are of great importance for the continuation of the successes of our national athletes who represented our country successfully at the Deaflympics Olympics held in Japan last November.

We know that the President of the Turkish Deaf Sports Federation, Mr. Dursun Gözel, places great importance on this team and cares deeply about our athletes. Because of the low average age, we describe our national team as a 'sprout team'; we see them as a shared value of our nation, entrusted to us by the President Mr. Dursun Gözel and our Ministry of Youth and Sports.”

Traditional Yörük Yellow Scarf to the National Athletes

Karakuş said, “We completed all our preparations before the camp. We presented the traditional Yörük yellow scarf to each of our athletes, wishing that they will be individuals who do not bow down to difficulties and overcome tough challenges like their ancestors.”

Muğla Mobilized for the National Team

During the national team’s camp program, public institutions, local governments, sports organizations, and civil society organizations in Muğla supported the athletes.

National athletes from Muğla, Rüzgar Alp Yalçınkaya and Atahan Günlü, who were part of the group, also had the opportunity to host their teammates in their own city and keep alive the hospitality tradition of Yörük culture.

During the camp, athletes’ accommodation, transportation, training hall, and health needs were met, and sporting and recreational activities such as Akyaka Azmak tour, İztuzu Beach visit, and rafting were organized within the framework of the active rest program.

Thanks to Supporting Institutions

Devrim Karakuş, President of Beşkaza Culture and Solidarity Association/Platform, thanked the institutions and organizations that contributed to the camp and concluded his statement as follows:

“All of Muğla mobilized for our national team’s camp. We thank the Dalaman Sarsala Sports Club, Ula and Ortaca municipalities, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, Muğla Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate, and Köyceğiz District Governorate for their contributions to accommodation, training hall, transportation, health services, and recreational activities, which are an integral part of sports science as active rest.

We also express our gratitude to our Governor of Muğla, Dr. İdris Akbıyık, who showed close interest and did not withhold support to our national team from the beginning of the camp.”
