Water purification devices installed in 400 schools in Muğla
Under the auspices of the Muğla Governorship, the "Clean Water for Our Students" project, developed to provide students in schools with healthier, safer, and more hygienic drinking water access, has put water purification devices into service in approximately 400 schools across Muğla.
The introduction program of the "Clean Water for Our Students" project was held at Menteşe Şehit Jandarma Yarbay Alim Yılmaz Primary School with the attendance of Governor Dr. İdris Akbıyık, Menteşe District Governor Mehmet Eriş and Provincial Director of National Education Emre Çay.
As part of the program, Governor Dr. İdris Akbıyık visited Menteşe Şehit Jandarma Yarbay Alim Yılmaz Primary School to examine the water purification systems installed and received technical information from the officials. Afterwards, visiting classrooms, Governor Akbıyık emphasized that raising children in healthy and hygienic educational environments is one of the state's primary duties. Governor Akbıyık stated; "There can be no education without health. For our children to attend school regularly, fully focus on their lessons, and succeed, first and foremost, they need to be in a healthy environment. Access to clean, safe, and sustainable drinking water is one of the fundamental components of this healthy environment. Under the auspices of our Governorship and in coordination with our Provincial Directorate of National Education, we are putting water purification devices into service in 400 of our schools with this project."

Governor Akbıyık pointed out that the project carries a very important mission not only in terms of health but also in raising environmental awareness and protecting nature, emphasizing gains in reducing plastic consumption, saying, "Previously, our students had to bring water to school in plastic bottles. This situation both imposed an additional burden on family budgets and caused significant plastic waste generation. Thanks to this work, which perfectly aligns with the goals of the 'Zero Waste Project', which has become a global brand under the auspices of Mrs. Emine Erdoğan, we minimize plastic waste formation in our schools. Thus, we both protect our nature and instill environmental awareness in our children from an early age. While raising healthy generations, we are also contributing to a green future." (İHA)
