187 new doctors graduated from Muğla Faculty of Medicine

Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (MSKU) Faculty of Medicine held its Graduation Ceremony for the 2025-2026 Academic Year at the Atatürk Cultural Center.

The ceremony was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Süleyman Cüneyt Karakuş and academics, as well as Mustafa Acar, Vice Chairman of the Sıtkı Koçman Foundation, Bülent Karakuş, President of Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MUTSO), Mehmet Tahça, Deputy Mayor of Menteşe, Deputy Director of Provincial National Education Seyit Güven Yılmaz, Chief Physician of Muğla Education and Research Hospital Prof. Dr. Ethem Acar, Chief Physician of Menteşe State Hospital Op. Dr. Şadi Ballı, political party representatives, NGO representatives and the families of the students.

The program, which started with the moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, included a musical performance by the Faculty of Medicine students.

Then, Dr. Sertaç Sunmez, top graduate of the Turkish Medicine Program, and Dr. Ali Buğra Kara, top graduate of the English Medicine Program, gave speeches thanking their professors and families who contributed to their education.

Congratulating the future physicians, MSKU Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Süleyman Cüneyt Karakuş reminded the graduating students that the secret to success in their professional lives lies in working hard, loving their profession, and being honest.

Prof. Dr. Karakuş stated, "We have no doubt that you will be the physicians referred to in Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's words, 'Entrust me to Turkish doctors.' May your path be open."

After the speeches, certificates of achievement were awarded to the top students. Subsequently, a plaque was nailed to the graduation register.

Following the presentation of diplomas to the graduates by protocol members and academics, the students took the Hippocratic Oath led by Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Süleyman Cüneyt Karakuş.

A total of 187 students were sent off to their professional lives, with 150 from the Turkish Medicine Program and 37 from the English Medicine Program.

At the end of the program, which concluded with the cap throwing ceremony, the students celebrated their graduation with great enthusiasm.
