White Coat Pride Experienced at MSKU

Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (MSKU) Faculty of Medicine sent off 187 young doctors to the health community with the graduation ceremony held. As the students who successfully completed their education received their diplomas, the ceremony became an unforgettable moment for families, academicians, and students.

This year, among the 187 students entitled to graduate at the MSKU Faculty of Medicine graduation ceremony, 150 completed the Turkish Medical Program, and 37 completed the English Medical Program successfully. The top graduate of the Turkish Medical Program was Dr. Sertaç Sönmez, and the top graduate of the English Medical Program was Dr. Ali Buğra Kara.

Dean Karakuş: "Today you are receiving the reward for your sacrifices"

In his opening speech at the ceremony, MSKU Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Süleyman Cüneyt Karakuş stated that graduation day is not just a diploma ceremony but a special day crowned by years of effort, dedication, and sacrifice.

"This pride belongs mostly to the families"

Addressing families in his speech, Prof. Dr. Karakuş expressed that the graduates are now doctors who will serve the health of the community and thanked the families who made great sacrifices during their children's education process. He emphasized that families are one of the biggest contributors to this success.

He thanked the academicians

Touching on the efforts of the faculty members, Karakuş stated that training doctors is not limited to providing theoretical knowledge. He expressed that academicians also instill ethical values, patience, and a sense of responsibility in their students along with professional knowledge.

Addressing young doctors with Atatürk's words

At the end of his speech, Prof. Dr. Karakuş addressed the graduates, expressing his belief that the young doctors will not only be successful physicians but also conscientious and exemplary individuals in society. Recalling Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's words "Entrust me to Turkish doctors," Karakuş wished that they always wear their white coats with pride.

The ceremony ended with a thank you speech

At the end of his speech, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Cüneyt Karakuş thanked MSKU Rector Prof. Dr. Turhan Kaçar, the university administration, academic and administrative staff, and the entire team involved in organizing the graduation ceremony. The ceremony ended with the presentation of diplomas and the enthusiasm of graduation.
