Devrim Defne Bilge became the first athlete to win a medal internationally in Muğla's swimming history

Devrim Defne Bilge, a national swimmer from Muğla, became the first athlete to win a medal internationally in Muğla's swimming history by placing in three different categories at the Black Sea Cup 2026 held in Bulgaria.

The Black Sea Cup 2026, held in Varna, Bulgaria, took place from June 5-7.

Representing Turkey at the event, Muğla swimmer Devrim Defne Bilge ranked second in the 50-meter butterfly style 13-14 age category, third in the 50-meter butterfly style open age category, and third in the 50-meter freestyle 13-14 age category.

Following Bilge's success, the Muğla Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports issued a statement with the following remarks:

“Our athlete has achieved an important success as the first athlete to win a medal internationally in Muğla's swimming history with these achievements. We wholeheartedly congratulate our athlete Devrim Defne Bilge, who makes us proud with her determination, discipline, and exemplary struggle, along with her coaches and family; we wish her continued success.”
