Awards Presented at the July 15 Tournament
101 athletes participated in the chess tournament organized within the scope of July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day in Köyceğiz, and those who ranked were rewarded.
In Köyceğiz district of Muğla, a chess tournament was held as part of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day activities.
The event, organized in cooperation with Köyceğiz District National Education Directorate, Köyceğiz Youth and Sports District Directorate, and the Turkish Chess Federation Köyceğiz District Representation, took place at Borsa İstanbul Primary School Hall on July 11-12, 2026.
A total of 101 athletes from various provinces of Turkey participated in the tournament held in three different categories. Taner Şen, Köyceğiz District National Education Director, who closely attended to athletes and their families throughout the event, thanked the participants and conveyed his best wishes for their success.
At the award ceremony held at the end of the tournament, medals were presented to the athletes who placed in the top 10, and trophies were awarded by Köyceğiz Youth and Sports District Director Mehmet Kaleli to the athletes who ranked in the top three in their categories.
Kaleli thanked the athletes, their families, and those who contributed to the organization of the event that had intense participation, and stated that such activities contribute to the development of chess sports in the district.
