European Union opportunities were explained to women entrepreneurs: Project writing training started in Fethiye

The "EU Grants and Erasmus+ Project Writing Training," organized to enable women's cooperatives and women entrepreneurs to benefit more effectively from national and international funding sources, was held at the Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry Meeting Hall. The training program was organized in cooperation with the Muğla Governorship and the Fethiye Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Participants were provided with comprehensive information about European Union grant programs, Erasmus+ opportunities, project cycle management, application processes, and project preparation techniques. The training was delivered by Volkan Mulcar, Project Specialist at the Muğla Governorship European Union and Foreign Relations Office, and Nesrin Celep.

Before the training, Volkan Mulcar, Project Specialist of Muğla Governorship European Union and Foreign Relations Office, stated that spreading the project culture is of great importance for women to have a stronger place in economic and social life. Mulcar expressed that awareness of European Union funds and local support mechanisms has significantly increased in recent years, saying, “These efforts that we have been carrying out for years are now being followed more closely by institutions, organizations, and non-governmental organizations.

We are also seeing significant increases in the number of applications. It is aimed to provide training to women's cooperatives and ensure their access to existing funds as part of efforts to empower women in line with the decisions taken by the commission to prevent violence against women,” he said. Emphasizing that the training held in districts continues, Mulcar said that the program organized in Fethiye is the fourth training conducted so far.

Projects are not as difficult as they are hyped to be

Mulcar stated that the main purpose of the training is to make the project preparation processes understandable, and especially aims to encourage women entrepreneurs who will prepare projects for the first time. Mulcar said, “Our goal is not to explain the system with its complexities, but to introduce the project application processes. Many people find project writing quite difficult and complicated. However, when the necessary information is acquired, women cooperatives and entrepreneurs can easily prepare projects and benefit from European Union and local funds. Today's training also aims to raise this awareness and provide participants with practical information.”
