Two Cities, One Exhibition: The Cultural Meeting of Fethiye and Huzhou

The "Mountains and Seas Are Blooming – Fethiye and Huzhou Cultural Exchange Photo Exhibition," organized in collaboration with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, Fethiye Municipality, Huzhou Municipality, and the Fethiye Photography and Cinema Art Association (FEFSAD), met with art lovers at the Fethiye Municipality Özer Olgun Cultural Center. The exhibition brought together the nature, culture, and friendship ties of the two cities through the universal language of photography.

The "Mountains and Seas are Greening – Fethiye and Huzhou Cultural Exchange Photography Exhibition," prepared in cooperation with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, Fethiye Municipality, Huzhou Municipality, and Fethiye Photography and Cinema Art Association (FEFSAD), was opened with a ceremony. The opening program held at the Fethiye Municipality Özer Olgun Cultural Center was attended by Jiang Xuebin, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Turkey, Fethiye Mayor Alim Karaca, representatives from Huzhou Municipality, protocol members, artists, and many guests.

Speaking at the opening, FEFSAD member Filiz Erdoğan stated that photography is a universal language of communication that brings cultures and people together, and expressed that the exhibition is more than just an artistic event, but a strong symbol of friendship and cultural sharing. Emphasizing that the exhibition is an important reflection of the developing friendship between Turkey and China and the cultural ties between Fethiye and Huzhou, Erdoğan said, "This exhibition, which we are opening today, is not just an event where photographs come together. It is also a beautiful reflection of the friendship established between Turkey and China, the cultural ties developing between Fethiye and Huzhou, and the heartfelt bridges built through art."

“The story of two cities meets in the same exhibition”

Erdoğan, highlighting that Fethiye and Huzhou are two important cities known for their natural and cultural wealth, said, "Fethiye is one of the most special cities in the world with its sea, mountains, history, and natural beauties. Huzhou, on the other hand, is an important city that stands out with its value given to nature, cultural richness, and green living approach. Today, the stories of these two beautiful cities come together in the same exhibition."

Erdoğan, stating that as FEFSAD they see photographic art as a universal communication tool that brings cultures closer beyond an aesthetic pursuit, said they believe the exhibition will open doors to new collaborations and friendships.

The exhibition, aiming to contribute to the development of cultural relations between the two countries, presented numerous photographs reflecting the natural beauty, historical texture, and lifestyle culture of Fethiye and Huzhou for art enthusiasts to enjoy.
