At the 'Artificial Intelligence and the Future World' talk held in Fethiye, digital transformation expert Hakan Sarbanoğlu comprehensively explained the effects of artificial intelligence on human life, professions, and sectors. Important messages about the future business world were given during the talk.
An important talk shedding light on the future of technology and digital transformation was held in Fethiye. The talk titled “Artificial Intelligence and the World of the Future,” organized in collaboration with Fethiye Municipality and Fethiye Rotary Club, took place at the Özer Olgun Cultural Center.
“Artificial intelligence is humanity's greatest transformation threshold”
Speaking before the program, Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence Expert Hakan Sarbanoğlu made striking evaluations about both his career background and the current state of artificial intelligence. Sarbanoğlu said, “After my doctorate, I spent about 30 years in England and America, serving as Chief Information Architect in two large companies. After retiring, I chose a life close to nature, settled in Fethiye-Göcek, and have been living here for about 5 years.” Giving information about the content of the interview, Sarbanoğlu emphasized that artificial intelligence is a critical breaking point in human history, stating, “According to some views, artificial intelligence is now considered the fifth industrial revolution. Even more boldly, it is said to be a transformation as important as humanity’s discovery of the wheel. We are faced with a technology that will deeply affect every area of our lives, every age group, and every profession.” Noting that artificial intelligence brings both great opportunities and concerns, Sarbanoğlu stated, “There is both great excitement and serious concerns on this issue. Especially the transformation of professions is the most talked-about topic. Young people and those at the beginning of their careers need to reposition themselves according to this new order.” Sarbanoğlu stated that he planned the interview in two parts, saying, “In the first part, I will explain what artificial intelligence is and its technical aspects. In the second part, I will discuss its effects on business, industries, and daily life. Especially, I will explain with examples how artificial intelligence is used in tourism, architecture, and health sectors.” Emphasizing that artificial intelligence is constantly evolving, Sarbanoğlu said, “New developments occur worldwide every day. Important changes even happened just last week. It is very valuable for me to share these with participants in Fethiye.”
“The doors of a new era are opening”
The opening speech was made by Cansel Yavuz, the Term President of Fethiye Rotary Club, during the interview. In her speech, Yavuz stated that artificial intelligence has created an impact equivalent to major transformations such as steam power, electricity, and the internet in human history, saying, “Today we are witnessing one of the most important transformations in human history. Artificial intelligence is reshaping the ways we work, education, health, and art. But the most important question is: Where will humans be in this change?” Yavuz also mentioned that the Fethiye Rotary Club continues its knowledge and awareness activities that contribute to the development of society, and thanked Hakan Sarbanoğlu for his contributions.
