The 8th Fethiye Book Festival, organized this year by the Wonderful Children Association, started at the Fethiye Municipality Amphitheater. Speaking at the event held to instill a love of books in children, Association President Tandoğan Sönmez said that the organization was implemented for the first time in the world in Fethiye.

Speaking at the opening of the event, Harika Çocuklar Association President Tandoğan Sönmez emphasized the importance of the Book Festival, stating that the organization is a first not only in Turkey but also worldwide.
Sönmez, stating that the organization coincides with the summer period this year, said that in previous years they held the event while schools were open and organized book walks with the children.
Sönmez, expressing that the participation of children this year was below expectations, said, "We expected our children to participate, we expected better participation. Unfortunately, it was like the first day we started, but later we had marches with thousands of children. We will return to those days again."
Sönmez, who stated that the pandemic and earthquake negatively affected social activities, said that they believe they will return to the enthusiastic days as before after this process.
