The AK Party, under the directive of President Erdoğan, is preparing to declare March 21 Nevruz Festival an official holiday. If the bill planned to be submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) in October is approved, Nevruz will become Turkey's 10th official holiday and the total holiday duration will increase from 15.5 days to 16.5 days. This eagerly awaited new regulation is expected to be implemented for the first time on March 21, 2027.
