Muğla Doubled Its Imports in Exports

Foreign trade statistics for June 2026 announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) once again revealed Muğla's strong performance in exports. In June, exports from the city amounted to 125 million 935 thousand 132 dollars, while imports were realized as 52 million 946 thousand dollars. Thus, Muğla recorded a trade surplus of approximately 73 million dollars.

The data showed that Muğla maintained its production and export-oriented structure, with exports reaching approximately 2.4 times the volume of imports drawing attention.

Seafood became the locomotive of exports

The seafood sector once again led Muğla's foreign trade success. Particularly as one of Turkey's leading production centers in sea bass and gilthead seabream farming, the city continued to make significant contributions to the national economy through its realized exports. The seafood sector maintained its pioneering position in Muğla's exports in June as well.

Exports and imports increased in Turkey

According to TÜİK data, exports nationwide increased by 21.7% compared to the same month last year, reaching 24 billion 915 million dollars, while imports rose by 23% to 35 billion 285 million dollars. The foreign trade deficit increased by 26.2% to 10 billion 370 million dollars.

In the January-June period, Turkey's exports rose by 3.5% to 135 billion 980 million dollars, and imports increased by 4.6% to 189 billion 120 million dollars.

Germany leads exports, China leads imports

In June, the country to which Turkey exported the most was Germany with 1 billion 971 million dollars, while the USA, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Spain were among the top five countries.

In imports, China ranked first with 5 billion 276 million dollars, followed by the Russian Federation, Germany, the USA, and Italy.
